Missing: Rommie Lee Essex

This week for the Missing Person Saturday feature, I am highlighting the missing person’s case of Rommie Lee Essex. Rommie is classified as an endangered missing person. He was last seen in Tupelo, Mississippi on February 19th, 2019.

Rommie was 81 years old when he went missing. He is described as a black male, 5’5”-5’10”, 125 lbs, with gray hair, and brown eyes. Rommie may be experiencing dementia. He was last known to be wearing a navy blue jacket with a tan collar and a tan cap.

Rommie was last seen near an apartment complex called The Pines. He may have been heading to Memphis, Tennessee at the time. He has not been heard from since. The day before Rommie disappeared he had called his daughter who lives out of state in a panic. He had told her that someone had tried to break into his apartment. His daughter asked a local family member to check on Rommie. The family member did and stated that everything seemed fine. It is unclear if this event had anything to do with Rommie’s disappearance. His case remains unsolved.

If you have any information on Rommie or his disappearance, please contact the Tupelo Police Department by phone at (662) 841-6491.

Tomorrow for the Spotcast Sunday feature, I am reviewing the health & fitness podcast, Ask a Grief Specialist. Next week for the Missing Person Saturday feature, I am highlighting the missing person’s case of Maegan Janean Hembree. Until then keep sleuthing the cases; Nerd out!
