Missing: Erika Andrea Gaytan

This week for the Missing Person Thursday feature, I am highlighting the missing person’s case of Erika Andrea Gaytan. Erika is classified as an endangered missing person. She was last seen on July 14th, 2019 in El Paso, Texas.

Erika was born on February 9th, 1990, and was 29 years old when she went missing. She is described as a Hispanic female, 5’4”, 120 lbs, with brown hair, and brown eyes. Erika’s lip and ears are pierced. She was last known to be wearing a white dress and dangly earrings.

Erika disappeared after going on a date to a concert. She had contacted her 7-year-old’s father at 9:30 p.m. and posted pictures from that concert to social media. Her last post was shortly after midnight. Her family reported her missing on July 16th. Her date from the evening has been charged with her murder. However, Erika’s remains have not been recovered. Law enforcement obtained evidence that her date had buried her in the desert area near East Montana Avenue.

If you have any information on Erika or her disappearance, please contact the El Paso Police Department by phone at (915) 832-4400.

Tomorrow for the Fiction Friday feature, I am reviewing the fictional novel, The Joy Luck Club by Amy Tan. Next week for the Missing Person Thursday feature, I am highlighting the missing person’s case of Javier Rivas. Until then keep sleuthing the cases; Nerd out!
