Missing: Janice Ruth LaPlant

This week for the Missing Person Wednesday feature, I am highlighting the missing person’s case of Janice Ruth LaPlant. Janice is classified as an endangered missing person. She was last seen on July 25th, 2011, in Lincoln, Alabama.

Janice was born on July 13th, 1962, and was 49 years old when she went missing. She is described as a white female, 5’2” to 5’5”, 90 – 115 lbs, shoulder-length brown hair with graying at the roots, and her eyes are different colors (one blue-green, one black). Janice may be using the name Becky. She is partially blind in one eye and has multiple surgical scars. Janice is missing one of her front teeth. She was last known to be wearing a red tank top, cutoff jean shorts, white & light blue Nike sneakers, and two gold necklaces.

At the time of her disappearance, Janice was residing at the Lincoln Manor Apartment Complex with her boyfriend. On the night of July 25th, 2011, Janice had been drinking with neighbors in the complex’s parking lot. Janice left the complex on foot with her former brother-in-law to purchase more beer at a nearby store. The brother-in-law returned without Janice saying she saw a friend and told him to head back without her. Janice did not own a vehicle. She has not been seen or heard from since.

If you have any information on Janice or her disappearance, please contact Demarco Willis of the Lincoln Police Department by phone at (205) 763-7777. Please make sure to reference case number: 1108-092.

Tomorrow for the Writing Thursday feature, I am presenting a new original scene. Next week for the Missing Person Wednesday feature, I am highlighting the missing person’s case of Isaac Winifred Danyus. Until then keep sleuthing the cases; Nerd out!
