This week for the Missing Person Saturday feature, I am highlighting the missing person’s case of Skip Conrad. Skip is classified as a lost/injured missing person. He has been missing since August 21st, 2006, and was last seen in Silverton, Colorado.
Skip was born on September 1st, 1948, and was 57 years old when he went missing. He is described as a white male, 6’1”, 150 pounds, with brown hair, and brown eyes.
Conrad was last seen in Silverton on August 21st. He was known to go for a hike twice a day. Conrad had been walking down Lackawanna Road in the morning and never returned. An extensive search of the area turned up no sign of him. Before his disappearance, Conrad had learned that he had terminal heart disease. Some of his loved ones believe he may have gone up into the mountains to die. However, there is little evidence to support this theory.
If you have any information on Conrad or his disappearance, please contact the San Juan County Sheriff’s Office by phone at (970) 387-5531.
