This week for the TV Tuesday feature, I am reviewing the action-adventure series, Fate: The Winx Saga. This show debuted in 2021. It is rated TV-MA for the following reasons: moderate violence & gore; moderate profanity; moderate alcohol/drugs/smoking; and moderately frightening & intense scenes. There is 1 season for a total of 6 episodes. Each episode has a running time of approximately 50 minutes. Starring in this series are Freddie Thorp, Sadie Soverall, and Theo Graham. The following overview is provided from IMDB: A live-action adaption of Nickelodeon’s Winx Club (2004). It follows Bloom as she adjusts to life in the Otherworld, where she must learn to control her dangerous magical powers.
I did not watch the original series when it aired, so I knew nothing about this when I watched it. I liked it. There was a good amount of world-building done. The story had plenty going on and moved along well. I am hoping that they do a decent expansion of the world as they have provided a good foundation. I think it will take two seasons for me to really know if I like this show or not. I appreciate everything that has been presented and I see how they want me to feel about certain characters. However, I am reserving judgment until I have more information on them as I have been let down by many characters in the past.
I give this series 3.5 out of 5 stars.
