Tallulah

This week for the Movie Monday feature, I’m reviewing the comedic drama, Tallulah. This film came out in 2016 and has a running time of 1 hour and 51 minutes. This movie is rated TV-MA for the following reasons: moderate sex & nudity, severe profanity, and mild alcohol/smoking/drugs. Starring in this film is Ellen Page, Allison Janney, and Tammy Blanchard. The following overview is provided from IMDB: Desperate to be rid of her toddler, a dissatisfied Manhattan housewife hires a stranger to babysit and ends up getting much more than she bargained for.

I found the description of this film a little misleading. The description made it sound like we would be following the story of the Manhattan housewife, but really we follow the story of the stranger she hired to watch her child. I liked this movie once I got over being deceived by the description. I thought it was well cast and presented a compelling story for Tallulah. I will say that at the end of the film I was left wanting to know what happened. I have so many questions that I feel I need answered to be truly satisfied with the film. It’s worth a watch if you are so inclined.

I give this movie 3.5 out of 5 stars.

Tomorrow for the TV Tuesday feature, I’m reviewing the dramatic horror series, Hemlock Grove. Next week for the Movie Monday feature, I’m reviewing the action-drama, Dark Places. Until then keep seizing the cinema; Nerd out!
