8-Bit Christmas

This week for the Movie Monday feature, I am reviewing the holiday film, 8-Bit Christmas. This movie was released in 2021 and has a running time of 1 hour & 37 minutes. This film is rated PG for the following reasons: mild violence & gore; and mild profanity. Starring in this movie are Winslow Fegley, Neil Patrick Harris, and Steve Zahn. The following overview is provided from the IMDB page: In 1980s Chicago, a 10-year-old sets out on a quest to get the Christmas gift of his generation: the latest and greatest video-game system.

This film was a whole lot of nostalgia for me. As a child who grew up in the suburbs of Chicago, this film hit those childhood vibes. I found this film to be funny and warm. I will be adding this one to my yearly holiday film rotation. There’s a balance between the emotional moments in this film and the light-hearted comedy scenes. I highly recommend checking this one out if you haven’t already.

I give this film 4.5 out of 5 stars.

Tomorrow for the TV Tuesday feature, I am reviewing the holiday series, Holiday Home Makeover. Next week for the Movie Monday feature, I am reviewing the holiday film, Happiest Season. Until then keep consuming the cinema; Nerd out!
