Missing: Melvia Kaye Roarx

This week for the Missing Person Saturday feature, I am highlighting the missing person’s case of Melvia Kaye Roarx. Melvia is classified as an endangered missing person. She was last seen on June 4th, 2013, in Horse Branch, Kentucky.

Melvia was born on October 27th, 1984, and was 27 years old when she went missing. She is described as a white female, 5’0” – 5’4”, 100 lbs, blonde hair, and blue eyes. Melvia has scars on her abdomen & upper right arm, and her ears are pierced. She has the following tattoos: Winnie the Pooh (right forearm), two dolphins in a heart shape (lower back), “Jamie” (base of neck), and “L” in Old English (right leg). Melvia may be using the nicknames: Pam or Pooh Bear.

Melvia was last seen on surveillance cameras in Horse Branch, Kentucky on June 4th, 2013. She had left her house to purchase cigarettes and cold drinks. The store was four miles from her house, and she was seen making her purchase and then leaving in the direction of her home. However, she never actually returned to the residence. She has not been seen or heard from since. Her vehicle (a white 2000 Dodge Caravan) was found abandoned 80 miles away at mile marker 109 on Interstate 65 in Bullitt County, Kentucky. The driver’s seat was all the way back as if someone who was taller than Melvia had been driving it last. The windows were rolled down, Melvia’s purse was in there but her wallet was gone. The key was found broken in two pieces in various places in the vehicle. Her case remains open.

If you have any information on Melvia or her disappearance, please contact the Grayson County Sheriff’s Office by phone at (270) 259-3024.
