The Me You Can’t See

This week for the TV Tuesday feature, I am reviewing the documentary series, The Me You Can’t See. This show ran from 2021 to 2021. It is rated TV-MA with no additional information provided on the rating. There is 1 season for a total of 6 episodes. Each episode has a running time of approximately 60 minutes. Starring in this series are Oprah Winfrey, Prince Harry, and Lady Gaga. The following overview is provided from the IMDB page: Oprah Winfrey and Prince Harry join forces to guide honest discussions about mental health.

Everyone stop what you are doing right now and go watch this series. If you struggle with mental health, please, please watch this series. You are not alone, and this series made me feel seen for the first time when it came to my actual struggles with mental health. I have been a huge fan of Prince Harry breaking the stigma around mental health. The fact that he got real about his own struggles and I got to watch him go through an EMDR session, made me feel less shame. I have always been shamed by people around me for traditional talk therapy not being enough to “cure” me. But the thing is, mental health is not that black and white. Understanding how everyone can have a different response or experience is necessary to normalize our conversations. I love the structure of this show, as it intertwines the stories of well-known individuals with those of everyday people. I have so much respect for the work that the Duke & Duchess of Sussex do around mental health and making things accessible to all. Please watch this show, it might help you or it might help you connect better with someone close to you.

I give this show 5 out of 5 stars.

Tomorrow for the Missing Person Wednesday feature, I am highlighting the missing person’s case of Shanna Genelle Peoples. Next week for the TV Tuesday feature, I am reviewing the comedic family series, Family Reunion. Until then keep binge watching the episodes; Nerd out!
