Premise: time travel

We finally got the results from the staff selection. A group of three researchers would be traveling back in time, to observe past generations that lived on Earth. We had not lived on the surface of Earth in two centuries and many things that we had previously been able to ask former residences of the surface we could no longer. But with the invention of time travel, we would be able to go back in time and observe with our own eyes the things we wanted a better understanding of. A few questions we had were: What did it mean to laundry clothes? What was the hurricane like? How much has email influenced our current existence? I was snacking on a pastry at my desk as I listened to Joyce rattle on about all the germs, she was terrified of that we could encounter. Erik was asking our supervisor if he could bring back real garlic to try and grow in the colony. I braced myself for the trip. We would only be gone for what would be minutes in our time, but we would be spending at least a week in the past. I knew better than to share any thoughts or feelings I had on the trip. It could be seen as tainting the goal. I secretly hoped that I would be able to visit an art gallery and see the real works of art that I had only viewed on a screen.
