Original Poetry 1

This week for the Writing Thursday feature, I am presenting some of my own original writings. These poems that I am posting are from when I first decided to be a writer. My point in providing this content even when at times is cringe-worthy is just to show my growth as a writer. I hope that you get some amusement from this week’s feature. Tomorrow for the Fiction Friday feature, I am reviewing the children’s animal fiction novel, Meow.Org: The Cat-Napping Coper by Darby Lee Patterson. Next week for the Writing Thursday feature, I am presenting a new original scene. Until then keep creating; Nerd out!

The Things You Do To Me

Even when you’re not with me,

I feel you here beside me.

You hold me till I fall asleep,

Keeping my nightmares away.

Who knew love could be this way?

850 miles away from each other,

Yet so close.

I’m bound to you with my heart.

You’re always on my mind,

Making me smile.

A smile that never fades.

Happiness that knows no end.

Being With You

When around you, I can barely breathe.

Your ice-blue eyes see right into my soul.

In my dreams, I have a life with you.

But in the end, I end up back in reality.

Sitting here watching you,

Wishing to have you as my own.
