Premise: alone on a deserted island

I think I finally had found my paradise to get some work done in. I had purchased a deserted island. The last owners had stopped going to the island about 25 years ago. I had a few conveniences at my fingertips, but the place needed work. It would be a little bit before I would have power and water restored. But there was a well I could pump water from in the meantime. I grimaced every time I went into the main building as there was a terrible echo throughout it. I knew that I would be able to decrease that once I got some furniture in the place. I was sleeping in a tent on the beach at the moment because it was the only way I could get any sleep. I would march around the island in the morning learning every inch of the place. I didn’t bother with any of my work the first two weeks there. I figured that no one was going to be upset that the book reviews were delayed a little. I found myself exploring the ocean more than I had ever in the past. I couldn’t get over the number of organisms that lived around the island. I soon found myself dreaming of life as a mermaid.
