Premise: tumultuous soulmates are on opposing sides of a conflict
I had been best friends with Kyle and Tasha my whole life. But this prom float was going to be the end of their relationship and maybe my friendship with them. Tasha wanted to do a scene in an apothecary with a fantasy feel. It would look normal for the most part but if you paid attention, you would notice that the chairs were mushrooms and such. There had been a frenzy of arguments between the two soulmates as they described themselves. Kyle on the other hand wanted to do a jail scene and have a working cell door. He had even mocked up a design and what it would take to make. But Tasha said that we couldn’t guarantee that the sprockets would hold up for the entire parade and she didn’t want to use the door only a handful of times. I was busy scrounging the depths of the creative spaces in my brain to figure out how to make both ideas work. Kyle and Tasha this time were fighting about potentially taking a vote to oust the other one from working on the project any further. I had found a different part in the book we were using for inspiration, that would make Tasha and Kyle both happy. Tasha would get to wear a rich ladylike outfit to match the bowtie dress code of the scene. But Kyle would get to make a bunch of smaller moving things that would make his engineer brain happy.
