This week for the Fiction Friday feature, I am reviewing the young adult horror novel, Sons of Destiny by Darren Shan. This book was published in October 2004 by Little,Brown and has a page count of 208 pages. This novel is the final book in the Cirque du Freak series. The audiobook is 5 hours & 16 minutes in length and narrated by Ralph Lister. The following overview is provided from the B&N page: Dead if he loses – damned if he wins. The time has finally come for Darren to face his archenemy, Steve Leopard. One of them will die. The other will become the Lord of the Shadows – and destroy the world. Is the future written, or can Darren trick destiny?

An incredible ending to an epic story. Everything from the very first scene to the very last one was worth all the twists and turns. I can’t tell you how much all the world-building, character development, and plot twists are worth it. Everything and I mean everything served a purpose. It was all building towards this novel that was a gripping page-turner. This series is a must-read just for the final novel. I am requesting that if you like vampires read this series. You will not be disappointed.

I give this novel is 4.5 out of 5 stars.

Tomorrow for the Missing Person Saturday feature, I am highlighting the missing person’s case of Lee Arthur Chambers. Next week for the Fiction Friday feature, I am reviewing the young adult historical romance novel, Onyx & Ivory by Mindee Arnett. Until then keep reading on; Nerd out!
