This week for the Writing Thursday feature, I am presenting an original scene. I hope you enjoy my latest creative work found below. Tomorrow for the Fiction Friday feature, I am reviewing the fictional young adult novel, Don’t Ask Me Where I’m From by Jennifer De Leon. Next week for the Writing Thursday feature, I am presenting a new original scene. Until then keep creating; Nerd out!

Premise: The year is 2563…

I had done my best to follow my mother’s instructions when it came to my interview. I wasn’t sure I asserted myself enough like my mother had stressed the most during our practice runs. The distribution of work on the Space Station was pretty regulated and it was hard to change your specialty once it had been your designation for a year. However, I think the head of job assignments was tired of seeing me for a new interview. I have so far had twenty-seven different jobs on the space station. Some I left because I didn’t like, others I was asked to leave because I wasn’t a fit. I was hoping that I could get assigned the studio responsible for programming all the social activities on the Holo Deck. I wiped lipstick out of the corner of my mouth with my knuckle when I caught sight of myself in the mirror. I showed off my skills using the Transformation software. I had shown off my plans for a rodeo with horses and everything. I would know in two hours if I would be granted the position.
