Safe House

This week for the Movie Monday feature, I am reviewing the action thriller film, Safe House. This movie was released in 2012 and has a running time of 1 hour & 55 minutes. This film is rated R for the following reasons: mild sex & nudity, severe violence & gore, moderate profanity, mild alcohol/drugs/smoking, and moderate frightening & intense scenes. Starring in this movie is Denzel Washington, Ryan Reynolds, and Robert Patrick. The following overview is provided from the IMDB page: A young CIA agent is tasked with looking after a fugitive in a safe house. But when the safe house is attacked, he finds himself on the run with his charge.

I liked this movie. There were times when scenes felt a little long but overall, it was a good movie. I liked the story. I felt that there was enough there with the action to feel fulfilled by the end. I will warn anyone that if you are going into this movie expecting to see the Ryan Reynolds of today, you won’t. There are some good snarky lines in this movie that I enjoyed. I would watch this film again. I recommend it to those that like a more slow-burn action film.

I give this film 4 out of 5 stars.

Tomorrow for the TV Tuesday feature, I am reviewing the food competition series, The Final Table. Next week for the Movie Monday feature, I am reviewing the action-adventure film, The Suicide Squad. Until then keep consuming the cinema; Nerd out!
