This week for the Missing Person Wednesday feature, I am highlighting the missing person’s case of Catherine Marie Tornquist. She has been missing since October 4th, 2011, and was last seen in Hot Springs, South Dakota.

Catherine was born on October 12th, 1955, and was 55 years old when she went missing. She is described as a white female, 5’0”-5’5”, 130 lbs, long partially gray hair, and brown eyes.

Catherine was last seen by her friend when he dropped her off at the Sonny’s Super Foods parking lot after a day of sightseeing. The next morning Catherine and her son, Michael, were supposed to pick up a motorhome in Rapid City. Catherine never showed even though she had put down a $1,000 deposit. Michael was convicted of Catherine’s murder in 2014, although her body has not been recovered.

If you have any information on Catherine or her disappearance, please contact Supervisory Special Agent Patrick West of the South Dakota Division of Criminal Investigation by phone at (605) 773-3331. Please make sure to reference case number 1104977.

Tomorrow for the Writing Thursday feature, I am presenting an original scene. Next week for the Missing Person Wednesday feature, I am highlighting the missing person’s case of Jacob Gabriel Hoggle. Until then keep sleuthing the cases; Nerd out!
