We Can Be Heroes

This week for the Movie Monday feature, I am reviewing the action-comedy film, We Can Be Heroes. This movie was released in 2020 and has a running time of 1 hour & 40 minutes. It is rated PG for the following reason: mild violence & gore. Starring in this film is YaYa Gosselin, Pedro Pascal, and Priyanka Chopra-Jonas. The following overview is provided from the IMDB page: When alien invaders capture the Earth’s Superheroes, their kids must learn to work together to save their parents – and the planet.

So let me start out by saying that there is nothing wrong with this film. I am not the demographic they were going for when they made this movie and that is fine with me. This film is geared toward younger children and adults that grew up watching Shark Boy & Lava Girl. I do not fit into either kid. I have never seen Shark Boy & Lava Girl and it’s never been something I have sought out to watch as an adult. I enjoyed the movie enough to find a favorite character. I don’t know how anyone could watch this movie and not love Guppy. I could not stop making Mandalorian jokes every time Pedro was on the screen.  I recommend this film to younger children and adults that were fans of Shark Boy & Lava Girl.

I give this movie 3 out of 5 stars.

Tomorrow for the TV Tuesday feature, I am reviewing the reality dating series, Love is Blind. Next week for the Movie Monday feature, I am reviewing the crime action film, Blackhat. Until then keep consuming the cinema; Nerd out!
