The Many Saints of Newark

This week for the Movie Monday feature, I am reviewing the crime drama film, The Many Saints of Newark. This movie was released in 2021 and has a running time of 2 hours & 00 minutes. This film is rated R for the following reasons: moderate sex & nudity; severe violence & gore; severe profanity; moderate alcohol/drugs/smoking; and moderate frightening & intense scenes. Starring in this movie are Alessandro Nivola, Leslie Odom Jr., and Jon Bernthal. The following overview is provided from the IMDB page: Witness the making of Tony Soprano. The story that reveals the humanity behind Tony’s struggles and the influence of his family – especially his uncle, Dickie Multisanti – had over him becoming the most iconic mob boss of all time.

This is everything I could want from a Sopranos movie. I think I am in the minority in being okay with how the show ended. I enjoy it when stories end in unexpected ways. So, the making of Tony Soprano is the thing that I always wanted to know more about. This movie gave me everything I could want and more. The casting was fantastic and I loved that James’ son played the young Tony. If you loved the show, I highly recommend this film.

I give this movie 4 out of 5 stars.

Tomorrow for the TV Tuesday feature, I am reviewing the crime drama series, The One. Next week for the Movie Monday feature, I am reviewing the action-adventure film, Black Widow. Until then keep consuming the cinema; Nerd out!
