This week for the TV Tuesday feature, I am reviewing the reality competition series, The Circle. This show debuted in 2020. It is rated TV-MA for the following reasons: moderate profanity and mild alcohol/drugs/smoking. There are a total 12 episodes for 1 season. Each episode has a running time of approximately 48 minutes. Michelle Buteau is the host of the show. The following overview is provided from the IMDB page: Players start off isolated in an apartment, and wit their online interactions as their only means of any communication. The players use a social media platform called “The Circle.”
I love this show. The host’s commentary is hilarious, and I love it. I hope that we get many more seasons of this. I can see how this could be improved but I really enjoyed it as it is presented. I love hearing people’s different reasons for choosing to catfish or play as themselves. There are players that I didn’t the entire time, there are some that grew on me and a letdown or two. I highly recommend this show to anyone that wants to watch social media be used as an actual game contest. Because we are certainly not winning any prizes in the real world playing the social media game.
I give this series 4 out of 5 stars.
Tomorrow for the Missing Person Wednesday feature, I am highlighting the missing person’s case of Cody Henry Turner. Next week for the TV Tuesday feature, I am reviewing the reality-tv series, Love is Blind. Until then keep binge-watching the episodes; Nerd out!
