Premise: A family mystery uncovered

It was a normal Sunday brunch until Noah came down from upstairs. He had come over to our grandmother’s house earlier to look for some of his father’s old things. Noah’s dad had disappeared while on a trip to a small island in the tropics. Noah had always felt like there was more to the story and every in the family had assured him that there wasn’t. Noah had demanded that everyone tell him the truth about his father no matter how ugly it was. But no one had any secrets that they knew. Maybe Noah just had better gut instincts than the rest of us because the next thing I knew he was reading a marathon of passages that made Noah believe that he had a sister somewhere out in the world. A secret child that no one in the family but my uncle knew about. Out of curiosity, I got up and looked at the notebook pages with my cousin. There had been a wallpaper sample that I remembered being in my childhood best friend’s house. I whispered where I knew the wallpaper from, and we swapped positions. Now I was combing through the notebook, for any more clues I could provide by cousin on this new revelation.
