This week for the Missing Person Saturday feature, I am highlighting the missing person’s case of Dorothy Vivian Autrey. Dorothy is classified as an endangered missing person. She has been missing since February 20th, 2018, and was last seen in Cayucos, California.
Dorothy was born on October 28th, 1923, and was 84 years old when she went missing. She is described as a white female, 5’6”, 150 lbs, gray hair and blue eyes. Dorothy might be using the last name Mize. She is known to occasionally suffer from periods of transient global amnesia.
Foul play is suspected in Dorothy’s disappearance. Matthew Levine, Dorothy’s grandson, had been living with her at the time of her disappearance. He reported her missing at 7:30 pm on February 21st. A month after Matthew reported Dorothy missing, he turned himself into police and confessed to killing her. Law enforcement performed an extensive search of where Matthew said he disposed of the body, however, they failed to find any remains.
If you have any information on Dorothy or her disappearance, please contact the San Luis Obispo County Sheriff’s Department by phone at (805) 781-4550.
