This week for the Movie Monday feature, I am reviewing the action-adventure film, Dune. This movie was released in 2021 and has a running time of 2 hours & 35 minutes. This film is rated PG-13 for the following reasons: moderate violence & gore; mild alcohol/drugs/smoking; and moderately frightening & intense scenes. Starring in this movie are Timothée Chalamet, Rebecca Ferguson, and Zendaya. The following overview is provided from the IMDB page: Feature adaption of Frank Herbert’s science fiction novel about the son of a noble family entrusted with the protection of the most valuable asset and most vital element in the galaxy.
I liked the story and the foundation they laid out in this film. However, for all the hype and star power that it had it fell short for me. It also felt a little long for the amount of story that we got. I have a feeling that once I can watch this one with the sequel, I will like this one even more. I would recommend waiting until part two comes out and watching them together. However, if you want to watch it now go for it.
I give this movie 3 out of 5 stars.
Tomorrow for the TV Tuesday feature, I am reviewing the reality TV series, Tidying Up with Marie Kondo. Next week for the Movie Monday feature, I am reviewing the comedic family film, Misfit. Until then keep consuming the cinema; Nerd out!
