This week for the Movie Monday feature, I am reviewing the documentary film, Dolly Parton: Here I Am. This film was released in 2019 and has a running time of 1 hour & 30 minutes. It is rated TV-14 with no additional information on the rating available. Starring in this film is Mac Davis, David Dotson, and Jerry Douglas. The following overview is provided from the IMDB page: In this documentary, the life, career and music of Dolly Parton are reflected in interviews with friends and companions and the artist herself, interlaced with clips of Parton’s performances.

I did not go up in the family that worshipped Dolly Parton. However, as an adult, I have slowly been learning about her and her different contributions to society. This film was a fantastic look at Dolly Parton. You learn about her life, career, relationships, and the boundaries she places to keep herself sane. I loved every minute of this film. I loved hearing about Dolly’s friendships, their perspective on her was everything you could hope for. I highly recommend this documentary to Dolly fans and anyone that wants to learn more about her.

I give this film 4 out of 5 stars.

Tomorrow for the TV Tuesday feature, I am reviewing the documentary limited series High Score. Next week for the Movie Monday feature, I am reviewing the family adventure film, Legends of the Hidden Temple. Until then keep consuming the cinema; Nerd out!
