This week for the Movie Monday feature, I am reviewing the crime action film, Blackhat. This movie was released in 2015 and has a running time of 2 hours & 13 minutes. It is rated R for the following reasons: moderate violence & gore, mild profanity, and moderate frightening & intense scenes. Starring in this film is Chris Hemsworth, Viola Davis, and Tang Wei. The following overview is provided from the IMDB page: A furloughed convict and his American and Chinese partners hunt a high-level cybercrime network from Chicago and Los Angeles to Hong Kong to Jakarta.

This movie was too long for the story it was telling. If they had cut 30 minutes out of this film, I feel it would have been better. I think if they would have trimmed the film a bit the story would have been more pleasing to consume. I don’t know though because the story just felt really flat and lacking. Maybe it was a combination of being too long and too one-dimensional. I liked the casting, and the action sequences were good. Check it out and see what you think.

I give this film 3 out of 5 stars.

Tomorrow for the TV Tuesday feature, I am reviewing the reality competition series, The Great British Baking Show. Next week for the Movie Monday feature, I am reviewing the documentary film, Dolly Parton: Here I Am. Until then keep consuming the cinema; Nerd out!
