Black Widow

This week for the Movie Monday feature, I am reviewing the action-adventure film, Black Widow. This movie was released in 2021 and has a running time of 2 hours & 14 minutes. This film is rated PG-13 for the following reasons: moderate violence & gore; mild profanity; mild alcohol/drugs/smoking; and moderately frightening & intense scenes. Starring in this movie are Scarlett Johansson, Florence Pugh, and David Harbour. The following overview is provided from the IMDB page: Natasha Romanoff confronts the dark parts of her ledger when a dangerous conspiracy with ties to her past arises.

While I liked certain scenes in this film, I didn’t see the purpose of it. It felt ill-timed when looking at the MCU as a whole. If you asked me, I would have released this film before the release of Endgame. It would have made the stakes of Endgame that much higher and heartbreaking when it came to Black Widow’s role in Endgame. I understand that this movie sets up other things to happen within the MCU, I was just disappointed as I felt it was poorly executed. If you don’t want to miss the calls back to this check it out when you have some free time.

I give this movie 3 out of 5 stars.

Tomorrow for the TV Tuesday feature, I am reviewing the comedic crime series, Good Girls. Next week for the Movie Monday feature, I am reviewing the action-adventure film, Dune. Until then keep consuming the cinema; Nerd out!
