Unjust & Unsolved

This week for the Spotcast Sunday feature, I am reviewing the true crime podcast, Unjust & Unsolved. This podcast debuted in September 2020 and was last updated in May 2021. There are 28 episodes to listen to at the time of writing. The following overview is provided from the Apple Podcast page:  The Innocence Project estimates that there are currently over 20,000 innocent people locked away in US prisons. These cases remain unsolved. Each week, Investigative Journalist Maggie Freleng tells the story of one of those people and takes a deep dive into the crime they were convicted of. Through her original interviews with the convicted, their lawyers, families, and friends, Freleng chronicles each inmate’s fight for exoneration and their hope that justice can still be served.

This podcast shares some shocking statistics about wrongful convictions and imprisonment. I like the structure of this podcast. Maggie does a wonderful job of not only presenting the facts of the original case but also their process of investigating a case. I look forward to more episodes of this podcast. This is a great podcast for those who want to understand the struggles of proving a wrongful conviction. I highly recommend this podcast to true crime consumers.

I give this podcast 4 out of 5 stars.

Tomorrow for the Movie Monday feature, I am reviewing the comedic romance film, Falling Inn Love. Next week for the Spotcast Sunday, I am reviewing the true crime podcast, Homies & Homicide. Until then keep listening on; Nerd out!
