The Movies That Made Us

This week for the TV Tuesday feature, I am reviewing the documentary series, The Movies That Made Us. This show debuted in 2019. It is rated TV-MA for the following reasons: moderate profanity and mild alcohol/drugs/smoking. There are 3 seasons for a total of 16 episodes. Each episode has a running time of approximately 45 minutes. The series is narrated by Donald Ian Black and Danny Wallace. The following overview is provided from the IMDB page: The histories of classic popular movies are examined.

I loved this show. I hope that we get more episodes. I appreciate how this show talks about all the aspects of these movies being made. I hadn’t heard some of the funding stories before and found that information interesting. It was interesting to learn the difference in getting a movie made then compared to how movies are made now. I think one of the most underappreciated aspects of filmmaking is the costumes and props. Some of these films really challenged those departments to make it look good. If you’re someone who enjoys watching all the behind-the-scenes extras for movies this show is for you. I highly recommend this show to anyone who loves pop culture.

I give this show 4 out of 5 stars.

Tomorrow for the Missing Person Wednesday feature, I am highlighting the missing person’s case of Nikki Lyn Forrest. Next week for the TV Tuesday feature, I am reviewing the action-adventure series, The Mandalorian. Until then keep binge-watching the episodes; Nerd out!
