This week for the Spotcast Sunday feature, I am reviewing the society & culture podcast, Incel. This show debuted in June 2019 and is still releasing episodes. This podcast comes with an explicit language warning. There are 67 episodes available at the time of writing. The following overview is provided from the Apple Podcast page: Investigative journalist Naama Kates dives deep inside the incel community. Incel is shorthand for involuntary celibate.

This is a fascinating look at the Incel community. I give Namma a lot of credit for how she handles the interviews. She does a wonderful job of allowing the guest to talk about what they want while also keeping them to a cohesive story. I feel like the only way to really get to the bottom of something, you have to do your best to understand it. Unfortunately, in today’s society, everyone wants to jump to automatically demonizing something instead of trying to come to any form of understanding. This podcast does a good job at allowing us an inside peek at those that identify this way.

I give this podcast 4 out of 5 stars.

Tomorrow for the Movie Monday feature, I am reviewing the dramatic film, An Education. Next week for the Spotcast Sunday feature, I am reviewing the true-crime podcast, Female Criminals. Until then keep listening on; Nerd out!
