This week for the Spotcast Sunday feature, I am reviewing the food podcast, Vegan Abattoir. This show debuted in June 2020 and was last updated in December 2020. This podcast comes with an explicit language warning. There are 19 episodes to listen to at the time of writing. The following overview is provided from the Apple Podcast page: When filmmaker Kevin Smith nearly died from a massive heart attack, his only begotten daughter Harley Quinn convinced him to try a plant-based died for 2 months. 2 years later and still not dead, the Dad asked the Daughter to join forces so the two can provide plant-based answers to the Vegan-curious questions they get from a meat-eating and dairy-drinking audience. The only thing that gets slaughtered here is misinformation. Dare you enter the Vegan Abattoir.
I liked how this podcast presented the facts of veganism. There were a few sanctimonious moments but other than that I really liked it. I have never been a big consumer of meat. And up until lately, the vegan food market wasn’t making anything that I like enough to sub for the animal product. I do like the tips and tricks that are mentioned in the episodes. I had been able to slowly cut more animal products out of my diet. If you’re looking for a fun way to learn about veganism, I recommend checking out this podcast.
I give this podcast 4 out of 5 stars.
Tomorrow for the Movie Monday feature, I am reviewing the comedic drama film, Double Dad. Next week for the Spotcast Sunday feature, I am reviewing the society & culture podcast, Dead Parents Gang. Until then keep listening on; Nerd out!
