Crime Countdown

This week for the Spotcast Sunday feature, I am reviewing the true crime podcast, Crime Countdown. This podcast debuted in July 2020 and can be found exclusively on Spotify. There are 64 episodes to listen to at the time of writing. The following overview is provided from the Spotify Podcast page: Who’s the worst serial killer? Where’s the creepiest cult? What’s the coldest of all cold cases? If you’re a true crime fan, you’ve probably asked yourself some of these questions. Well, Parcast thinks you deserve answers… or at least some passionate opinions. And they’ve enlisted co-hosts Ash Kelley and Alaina Urquhart from the hit podcast Morbid to get to the bottom of things. Welcome to their Parcast original series, Crime Countdown. Every Monday, Ash and Alaina discuss ten unsettling true crime stories centered around a common theme. With the help of the Parcast research gods, they’ll try to shock, surprise, and one-up each other—debating each case and their rankings with a hint of humor to lighten the mood. These best friends may not be experts. And they may not always agree. But… they’re counting down anyway.

This is an interesting podcast. I am not sure how I feel about the ranking system. However, I have learned about crimes that I hadn’t heard about before. I do like some of the lists that they have done. It is interesting when they do more motive-based lists. If you listen to podcasts on Spotify and like true crime, I recommend checking this one out. I like the hosts’ chemistry and how flow with each other.

I give this podcast 4 out of 5 stars.

Tomorrow for the Movie Monday feature, I am reviewing the family fantasy film, Nightbooks. Next week for the Spotcast Sunday feature, I am reviewing the TV & film podcast, Inside Star Wars. Until then keep listening on; Nerd out!
