Premise: A woman’s first day in a convent

I didn’t know if this was the right path in life for me. But after I had tried to make it in film and recognized how toxic that industry was for me, I thought this might be what makes me happy and fulfilled. I tried to be mindful of my nervous habit of licking my lips, I don’t think the other nuns would see it as such. I was to start the day by attending prayer in the chapel. I was grateful for the breakfast time that followed. The pomegranate tea helped relax some of my nerves. I did my best to meet as many of the nuns as possible. Morning bible study had been the hardest on me before lunch. Everyone was so quiet you could hear each individual page turning. I was grateful to be here, but I was so different from what I had experienced for so long, it was jarring. Especially, that afternoon when a tour came through the church and adjoining convent. I froze like a statue when I noticed Penny on the tour. I was beyond zealous of her when I was in middle school. She had been the popular girl and had made fun of me. I was terrified she would recognize me and make more cruel jokes. I did my best to hide my face until they were done in the area I was working. The day had been full of emotions that I had kept inside all day, however, I had slept the best I ever had that night.
