Cases of Color

This week for the Spotcast Sunday feature, I am reviewing the true crime podcast, Cases of Color. This podcast debuted in June 2019 and was last updated in July 2021. There are 29 episodes to listen to at the time of writing. The following overview is provided from the Apple Podcast page: This is a podcast where I cover missing persons, unsolved cases and cases where the conclusion still raises questions involving people of color. Bringing light to the stories that are often pushed to the side or left untold and uncared for. Welcome to Cases of Color.

If you are looking for an indie podcast that has a single narrator to support this is a fantastic one. This podcast focuses on the cases that don’t get the same kind of coverage as Gabby Petito. Statistically, a person of color is less likely to get widespread news coverage compared to their white counterparts. This podcast focuses on those cases to draw more attention and hopefully get families the answers they deserve. This podcast also points out how the investigations into these cases are often flawed because the victims are considered less of a priority. If you listen to true crime podcasts, please add this one immediately. These cases need our attention and I ask everyone who listens to podcasts to check this one out.

I give this podcast 4 out of 5 stars.

Tomorrow for the Movie Monday feature, I am reviewing the satire documentary film, Death to 2020. Next week for the Spotcast Sunday feature, I am reviewing the religion & spirituality podcast, Tu Tía Bruja. Until then keep listening on; Nerd out!
