I Care A Lot

This week for the Movie Monday feature, I am reviewing the comedic crime film, I Care A Lot. This movie was released in 2020 and has a running time of 1 hour & 58 minutes. It is rated R for the following reasons: mild sex & nudity, mild violence & gore, severe profanity, mild alcohol/drugs/smoking, and mild frightening & intense scenes. Starring in this film are Rosamund Pike, Peter Dinklage, and Eiza González. The following plot overview is provided from IMDB: A crooked legal guardian who drains the savings of her elderly wards meets her match when a woman she tries to swindle turns out to be more than she first appears.

Wow! This movie was not what I expected it to be. This movie was much darker in its tone and theme than I had thought it would have been based on the description and trailer. I did not see the ending coming either which I enjoyed. I love when movies surprise me with things that weren’t the obvious choices. Not only was the writing well done but the cast was chef’s kiss. I loved each casting choice made in this film. Each actor is amazing in their role, and I quickly forget that I am watching actors and fall into the story. I highly recommend this movie to anyone who enjoys watching a movie that has no real hero.

I give this film 5 out of 5 stars.

Tomorrow for the TV Tuesday feature, I am reviewing the dramatic fantasy series, The Magicians. Next week for the Movie Monday feature, I am reviewing the comedic drama film, To All the Boys: Always & Forever. Until then keep consuming the cinema; Nerd out!
