Shaken & Disturbed

This week for the Spotcast Sunday feature, I am reviewing the true crime podcast, Shaken & Disturbed. This show debuted in January 2021. This podcast has an explicit language warning. There are 69 episodes to listen to at the time of writing. The following overview is provided from the Apple Podcast page: Shaken and Disturbed is a new true crime podcast (with a hint of comedy) from true crime veterans John Thrasher and Daryn Carp! Having previously appeared as co-hosts of the true crime podcast Martinis & Murder, John and Daryn bring their true crime expertise, sarcastic comedy banter and passion for the details to an all-new show! With a new murder case every week, John and Daryn break down the case, connect the dots, and try to make it enjoyable along the way. Shaken and Disturbed also features interviews with the biggest names in true crime as well as episodic recaps of your favorite true crime TV shows and documentaries! Subscribe to Shaken and Disturbed wherever you listen to podcasts.

Well, this is an improved version of Martinis & Murder. The thing that makes this podcast the improved version is that it is an indie podcast now. This show has a more relaxed energy while discussing an emotionally charged topic. The hosts knew how to transition from their fun, light-hearted chit-chat to the case for the week. They do a great job of giving a heads-up to any triggering topics that may come up in an episode. Very professional and quick to correct any mistakes they may have made. This is a well-produced podcast and covers a wide range of crimes. I recommend this podcast to true crime consumers.

I give this podcast 4 out of 5 stars.

Tomorrow for the Movie Monday feature, I am reviewing the action-adventure film, Dune. Next week for the Spotcast Sunday feature, I am reviewing the true crime podcast, Done & Dunne. Until then keep listening on; Nerd Out.
