This week for the TV Tuesday feature, I am reviewing the comedic drama series, Julie & the Phantoms. This series debuted in 2020. This show is rated TV-G. There are 9 episodes across 1 season. Starring in this series are Madison Reyes, Charlie Gillespie, and Owen Joyner. The following overview is provided from the IMDB page: Julie is a teenage girl who finds her passion for music and life with the help of a high-concept band of teen boys (the Phantoms) who have been dead for 25 years. Julie, in turn, helps them become the band they were never able to be.
This is a show for the whole family. I love the plot of this series. I enjoy how the phantoms actually appear and how Julie makes it work when everyone around is having doubts or questions. I love the musical choices they made for the band to play. I loved how they interwove Julie’s story with the phantom’s history. The story writing was well done for it to be an adult-friendly kid’s show. Fantastic watch and I recommend it for people of all ages to enjoy.
I give this series 4.5 out of 5 stars.
