Waco

This week for the TV Tuesday, I am reviewing the limited dramatic crime series, Waco. This show ran in 2018. There are six episodes for one season. Each episode has a running time of 48 minutes. This series is rated TV-14 for the following reasons: mild sex & nudity, moderate violence & gore, mild profanity, mild alcohol/drugs/smoking, and severe frightening & intense scenes. Starring in this show are Michael Shannon, Taylor Kitsch, and Andrea Roseborough. The following plot overview is provided from IMDB: The FBI and ATF seize religious leader David Koresh’s Branch Davidian compound near Waco, Texas in the spring of 1993.

I liked this dramatized telling of the Waco Siege. Since at the time when this happened, we could not know what was happening inside the compound, this seems to be an appropriate way to give a more well-rounded perspective on the situation. However, I know that it does not accurately represent what happened inside the compound. I think that this is the closest we can get to understanding exactly what happened during this fateful encounter between the US government and a deep religious sect. I highly recommend this to anyone who is wondering what happened in Waco and how it led to the Oklahoma City bombing.

I give this series 4 out of 5 stars.

Tomorrow for the Missing Person Wednesday feature, I am highlighting the Doe Network profile of Raquel Lucina Rodriguez. Next week for the TV Tuesday feature, I am reviewing the dramatic action series, Wu Assassins. Until then keep binge-watching the episodes; Nerd out!
