This week for the TV Tuesday feature, I am reviewing the comedy series, Mr. Iglesias. This series ran from 2019 to 2020. It is rated TV-14 with no additional information provided about the rating. There are 22 episodes across 3 seasons. Each episode has a running time of 28 episodes. Starring in this series are Gabriel Iglesias, Sherri Shepherd, and Jacob Vargas. The following plot overview is provided from IMDB: A good-natured high school teacher working at his alma mater works with gifted but misfit and disinterested students.
I loved this show. I enjoyed the perspective from a Latinx point of view. I loved how this show tackled topics of poverty and those under-served in the communities. I could not appreciate this show more. So many good storylines and relationships between the different characters. I wish I had had a teacher like Mr. Iglesias when I was in school, I may have not dropped out and finished. I may have been inspired to follow my dreams at a much younger age. Who knows what may have been different if more of us had a teacher like him? The conversations we have in this show are conversations we need to have in our everyday lives. I highly recommend this show to everyone.
I give this series 5 out of 5 stars.
