Merriam-Webster Word of the Day

This week for the Spotcast Sunday feature, I am reviewing the language podcast, Merriam-Webster’s Word of the Day. There is no information on when the podcast debuted, and they only keep an episode catalog of 10 episodes that are available at any one time. The following overview is provided from the Apple Podcast page: Build your vocabulary with Merriam-Webster’s Word of the Day! Each day a Merriam-Webster editor offers insight into a fascinating new word – explaining its meaning, current use, and little-known details about its origin.

As a writer, I love this podcast. It helps grow my vocabulary which in turn improves my writing. There are so many reasons to listen to this podcast. No matter what yours is, you will not be disappointed in this podcast. Each episode is less than 5 minutes. They give you the origin of the word, and sometimes a little history as well. This podcast is useful and educational to people of all ages and I highly recommend it to anyone who wants to expand their English vocabulary.

I give this podcast 5 out of 5 stars.

Tomorrow for the Movie Monday feature, I am reviewing the holiday film, Christmas in the Smokies. Next week for the Spotcast Sunday feature, I am reviewing the law podcast, Legal Wars. Until then keep listening on; Nerd out!
