This week for the Movie Monday feature, I am reviewing the holiday film, A Bad Moms Christmas. This movie was released in 2017 and has a running time of 1 hour & 44 minutes. This film is rated R for the following reasons: moderate sex & nudity, severe profanity, and moderate alcohol/drugs/smoking. Starring in this movie are Mila Kunis, Kristen Bell, and Kathryn Hahn. The following plot overview is provided from IMDB: As their own matters drop in unexpectedly, our three under-appreciated and over-burdened moms rebel against the challenges and expectations of the Super Bowl for mothers: Christmas.
I did not like this movie at all. I felt like it was excusing really toxic behavior out of the moms’ mothers. I get where this would be funny to people who have never had the experience of a narcissistic mother. But to those of us who have this movie is super triggering. I am sure that there are those of you who will watch this movie and enjoy all the jokes and want to recommend it to everyone. I hope that those who are reading this and will not be watching it for the reason I listed above, are not alone, and I am cheering you on in whatever part of your journey with it you are.
I give this film 2 out of 5 stars.
