Missing: Robert Deshawn Childers

This week for the Missing Person Wednesday feature, I am highlighting the Doe Network profile of Robert Deshawn Childers. Robert is classified as an endangered missing person. He was last seen on September 17th, 2016 in Florence, Alabama. Robert was born on September 11th, 1965, and was 51 years old when he went missing. He is described as a white male, 6’2”. 240-245lbs, gray hair, and blue eyes. Robert will sometimes use the name Shawn. He has the following distinguishing characteristics: he has neck cervical vertebrae that are fused, a scar down the back of his neck and back from surgery, an ostomy and he walks with a limp.

Robert was last known to be wearing Wrangler blue jeans, a green Wrangler shirt, and brown cowboy boots. He was last seen at a residence on Highway 41 in Florence, Alabama on September 17th, 2016. Robert’s roommate claims that he left the residence between 9 a.m. and 12 p.m. However, a neighbor claims to have seen the two men together after the time the roommate claims Robert left the house. The roommate has given inconsistent statements about what happened at the time of Robert’s disappearance. Robert had also been involved in a property dispute at the time. Authorities are unsure if the property dispute had anything to do with Robert disappearing. There has been no activity on Robert’s social security number or bank account since he went missing. If you have any information on Robert or his disappearance, please contact Sgt. Brad Bolton or Lt. James Potts of the Lauderdale County Sheriff’s office at (256) 760-5757 or (256) 760-5734.

Tomorrow for the Writing Thursday feature, I am presenting the latest installment of the Personal History series. Next week for the Missing Person Wednesday feature, I am highlighting the Doe Network profile of Eva Annette Serna-Barela.
