Feel the Beat

This week for the Movie Monday feature, I am reviewing the comedic drama film, Feel the Beat. This movie was released in 2020 and has a running time of 1 hour & 49 minutes. The film is rated TV-G for the mild profanity. Starring in this movie are Sofia Carson, Pamela MacDonald, and Sonia Laplante. The following plot overview is provided from IMDB: After failing to find success on Broadway, April returns to her hometown and reluctantly is recruited to train a misfit group of young dancers for a big competition.

This film is campy and I am here for it. I loved the story and how the young dancers help April realize where she belongs. I think I relate a lot to storylines like this which is why I enjoy them so much. This film also made me realize that I enjoy a good campy movie when I am dealing with my depression fallout. I liked the casting, it felt natural for them to be playing their parts. Nothing about this film felt forced. The music used to fit well with each of the scenes. I recommend this film to anyone who needs a feel-good campy film.

I give this film 4.5 out of 5 stars.

Tomorrow for the TV Tuesday feature, I am reviewing the dramatic Sci-Fi mystery series, Sense8. Next week for the Movie Monday feature, I am reviewing the dramatic film, An Education. Until then keep consuming the cinema; Nerd out!
