Charmed (2018)

This week for the TV Tuesday feature, I am reviewing the dramatic fantasy mystery series, Charmed. This series debuted in 2018. The show is rated TV-PG for the following reasons: mild sex & nudity, mild violence & gore, mild profanity, mild alcohol/drugs/smoking, moderately frightening & intense scenes. There are three seasons for a total of 59 episodes. Each episode has a running time of approximately 41 minutes. Starring in this series are Melonie Diaz, Madeleine Mantock, and Sarah Jeffrey. The following plot overview is provided from IMDB: Follows the lives of three sisters who, after the tragic death of their mother, discover they are powerful witches.

I enjoy this reboot. I like the things that they have changed about the characters and storylines that they reused. I also enjoy the darker tone of the show. I feel like the writers are trying to keep the everyday part of the show as close to reality as possible while going big on the fantasy front. I enjoy the more realistic approach to the sister’s “normal” part of their life. While I can understand where the original diehards may not like this reboot, I believe that it is worth watching and will find its own fans along with those like me who can appreciate both for what they are. I highly recommend watching this series for its strong female leads in a fantasy show.

Tomorrow for the Missing Person Wednesday feature, I am highlighting the Doe Network profile of TBD. Tomorrow for the True Crime Wednesday feature, I am recapping I Am A Killer S2E5. Next week for the TV Tuesday feature, I am reviewing the Sci-Fi dramatic mystery series, Sense8. Until then keep binge-watching the episodes; Nerd out!
