Hurricane Bianca: From Russia with Hate

This week for the Movie Monday feature, I am reviewing the comedic film, Hurricane Bianca: From Russia with Hate. This movie debuted in 2018 and has a running time of 1 hour & 25 minutes. The movie is rated TV-MA and I was not able to find a breakdown for the rating. Starring in this film are Rachel Dratch, Sally Jessy Raphael, and Jason Bellini. The following plot overview is provided from IMDB: Released from prison, statutory rapist ex-teacher Deborah Ward seeks revenge on cross-dressing co-worker Richard Martinez who put her there.

I am here for this movie. I love Bianca and Katya. I am a huge fan of RuPaul’s Drag Race, which was my first exposure to these queens. This is definitely a movie for those who love cheesy films and drag queens. I did not see the film that was before this one, however, you do not have to, to follow what is going on in this one. They give a quick recap but there really isn’t too much you need to know to follow this story. The thing you end up missing is the subtle throwback jokes. I enjoyed this movie and recommend it to anyone who just needs something to laugh at.

I give this film 4.5 out of 5 stars.

Tomorrow for the TV Tuesday feature, I am reviewing the crime drama series, Better Call Saul. Next week for the Movie Monday feature, I am reviewing the documentary film, The Most Unknown. Until then keep seizing the cinema; Nerd out!
