This week for the Spotcast Sunday features, I’m reviewing the true crime podcast, Gone Cold. This podcast debuted in 2018. There are 89 episodes available at the time of writing on my podcatcher. The following description is provided from the Apple Podcast page: There are thousands of unsolved homicides as well as thousands of missing persons cases across the Lone Star State. Gone Cold Podcast – Texas true crime seeks to explore these mysteries in-depth, with a concentration on both lesser-known cases and providing the victims and their families with a voice.
I first have to say that the host’s voice is like a minx baby blanket to my ears. I love that this podcast focuses on cases out of Texas. I enjoy the state or country-centered podcasts that allow me to learn more about places I’ve never been. I also enjoy how this podcast does a lot of lesser-known cases. I love it when cases that haven’t gotten a lot of attention are breathed new life with coverage. The episodes are just the right length, with the right amount of detail to convey what happened without being vile in their coverage. This is a well-done single-host true crime podcast. If you are looking for a true crime podcast without all the chit-chat and banter, this one is for you.
I give this podcast 4 out of 5 stars.
Tomorrow for the Movie Monday feature, I’m reviewing the children’s animated film, The Secret Life of Pets 2. Next week for the Spotcast Sunday feature, I’m reviewing the true crime podcast, Criminology. Until then keep listening on; Nerd out!
