This week for the TV Tuesday feature, I’m reviewing the reality TV series, Dancing Queen. This show debuted in 2018 and is rated TV-14. I couldn’t find any specifics for why the show received that rating. There is one season available with eight episodes. Episodes have a running time of 45 minutes. Starring in this series are Alyssa Edwards, Atlee Millard, and Marcella Rahen. The following overview is provided from IMDB: A docu-series that follows Justin Johnson, aka drag superstar Alyssa Edwards, as he juggles his dance life, drag life, family life, and love life.
Love, love, love, love this show. I had seen Justin and Alyssa on RuPaul’s Drag Race. In that environment, I didn’t care for Alyssa very much. However, being able to see this side of Justin and how Alyssa is when not in a competition made me love them so much. There is something infectious about the confidence in this series. I feel sometimes when Justin is giving a pep talk that I am the one getting the talk from the other person on the screen. I love the honesty and compassion of this show. If you love drag or an honest show, this one is for you.
I give this series 5 out of 5 stars.
Tomorrow for the True Crime Wednesday feature, I’m recapping the fourth episode in The Disappearance of Madeleine McCann series. Next week for the TV Tuesday feature, I’m reviewing the comedic-drama series, Young & Hungry. Until then keep bingeing episodes; Nerd out!
