Twin Peaks

This week for the TV Tuesday feature, I’m reviewing the crime drama, Twin Peaks. This show ran from 1990-1991 and is rated TV-MA. Each episode has a run time of 47 minutes. There are 2 seasons for a total of 30 episodes. Starring in this series are Kyle MacLachlan, Michael Ontkean, and Madchen Amick. The following plot summary is provided from IMDB: An idiosyncratic FBI agent investigates the murder of a young woman in the even more idiosyncratic town of Twin Peaks.

This show is a whole lot of wow. Wow as in a total time jump and product of this time. The fashion sense at the time makes me question a lot of people’s thinking. The case from the show reminded me a lot of the cases out of Ada, Oklahoma covered in The Innocent Man series on Netflix. I liked the show up to the point that they caught the killer. After that, it went over the top with themes that I feel didn’t fit with the initial impression/tone of the show. It all got a little absurd for me. If you need a good laugh this show is for you. I recommend watching to the point that they catch the killer. The rest of it can be skipped unless you want to go down that rabbit hole.

I give this show 3.5 out of 5 stars.

Tomorrow for the True Crime Wednesday feature, I’m recapping episode 3 of The Disappearance of Madeline McCann. Next week for the TV Tuesday feature, I’m reviewing the crime drama, The Sinner. Until then keep bingeing episodes; Nerd out!
