This week for the TV Tuesday feature, I’m reviewing the fantasy drama series Charmed. This show ran from 1998-2006 and is rated TV-14. Episodes have a runtime of 42 minutes; starring in this series Holly Marie Combs, Alyssa Milano, and Brian Krause. The following plot summary is provided from IMDB: Three sisters discover their destiny to battle against the forces of evil, using their witchcraft. They are the Charmed Ones.
I have so many opinions on this show. One I can’t stand Prue, so I skip the first three seasons whenever possible. Prue is too over the top bossy and controlling. I prefer the sister dynamic when Paige comes in. After all these I still have a soft spot for Cole but I’m happy that Phoebe finally gets her happy ending. Now comes the part I have been dreading since picking this to review, Season 8. I loved the ending to the show, however, I wish the show had ended in Season 7. That ending was what I wanted for the sisters. Season 8 was a mess and really hard for me to watch. Yes, they ended the show with a neat little bow like Season 7. Yet, Season 8 felt completely unnecessary to me. It seems like it was just another excuse to have another season. I am okay if I am in the minority of people that dislike Season 8, I’m fine with that. Seasons 4-7 are my favorites and get re-watched often.
I give this series 4 out of 5 stars.
Next week for the TV Tuesday feature, I’m reviewing the dramatic thriller, Black Mirror. Until then keep bingeing episodes; Nerd out!
