Love Actually

This is one of the holiday movies that I watch every year. My ritual is wrapping presents while this movie plays. Don’t get me wrong, some of the storylines are a bit over the top, however, I relate to a few. I don’t remember if it was because of Bill Nighy or Alan Rickman or as I refer to them, Victor and Severus. As the years have gone on and I have recognized more actors for others the jokes I make while watching get better. That may be another reason I enjoy this movie. The familiar faces of Keira Knightley (Domino), Emma Thompson (Harry Potter), Andrew Lincoln (The Walking Dead), Liam Neeson (Star Wars), Hugh Grant (Two Weeks Notice), Colin Firth (Bridget Jones), Thomas Brodie-Sangster (Game of Thrones), and more keep me coming back.

I know a lot of people can’t stand this movie. It’s a movie for a certain crowd. I suggest that everyone at least check it out once in their lifetime. There are plenty of stories that are told during the Christmas season. Some of the storylines are workplace romance, a spouse’s misdeeds, the one that got away, a first love, a lost love, and a new love. If you absolutely hated this movie after, I am sorry and would invite you to let me know why. I think it is a cute Christmas movie, but I know I am only one person.

I  give this movie 3.5 out of 5 stars.
