Trixie Mattel: Moving Parts

This week for the Movie Monday feature, I am reviewing the documentary film, Trixie Mattel: Moving Parts. This movie was released in 2019, with a running time of 1 hour & 21 minutes. This film is rated TV-MA with no details provided for why it received that rating. Starring in this movie are Brian Firkus, Reuben Asberry Jr., and Willam Belli. The following overview is provided from IMDB: Trixie charmed audiences and judges as winner of RuPaul’s Drag Race All Stars. But the grind of performing and the pressure of the title proves that heavy is the head that wears the tiara.

Trixie is everything I need when I am feeling homesick for the Midwest. I was not a fan of Trixie’s when she was on Drag Race. I don’t feel like you can get a real feel of a person on a competition show. I am not the same person in my day-to-day existence compared to when I am in a competition setting. However, watching Trixie’s documentary made me fall in love with her. I also have mad respect for her friendship with Katya. Trixie is hands down my favorite drag queen.  I don’t know how to explain it, but she just feels like home to me. Y’all really should watch this documentary. Trixie is strong, witty, and a workaholic with a heart of gold, she is the best of the Midwest.

I give this film 5 out of 5 stars.

Tomorrow for the TV Tuesday feature, I am reviewing the sci-fi action drama series, Altered Carbon. Next week for the Movie Monday feature, I am reviewing the comedy film, Father of the Year. Until then keep consuming the cinema; Nerd out!
